Alexandra Baillie

  • As President of Good & Well, Alexandra leads company strategy and actively supports our team and investees to realize our shared vision of a more equitable, resilient and sustainable market. She is a seasoned board director, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Realize Capital Partners, a fund-of-funds manager for the Government of Canada's Social Finance Fund. Prior to this, Alexandra spent several years building a renewable resources and power development company in West Africa, drove policy negotiations for the United Nation's Convention on Biodiversity, and coordinated a pioneering partnership to green the 2002 UN World Summit on Sustainable Development.

     Alexandra holds degrees from Queen’s University, Yale University, and Harvard Business School. She is an advisor to the Queen’s University Biological Field Station and formerly served as Chair of the Board of Canadian Stage and Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Art Canada Institute.

Emily Davis

  • Emily works to facilitate the Impact Challenge and the Internship Programs in support of Aastha. In addition to directly supporting Alexandra’s work as President, she takes the lead on ad hoc projects and provides contracted administrative support to one of our Portfolio Companies. Emily grew up overseas with parents involved in NGO work and is grateful for the perspective that gave her on global issues and human-centered work. Her experience includes administrative and organizational work with a wide variety of organizations, from non-profits to Bay Street. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences.

Jonathan Shui

  • As Director of Investments at Good & Well, Jonathan leverages over two decades of investment management experience to lead our deal team. Jonathan provides hands-on support to portfolio companies and enjoys building supportive relationships with founders to help them thrive. Previously, Jonathan was a Portfolio Manager and VP & Director at TD Asset Management and directly managed over $3 billion in AUM. Jonathan graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.A. Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering along with a Minor in Economics. He was later awarded the CFA designation and completed the Columbia Business School Executive Education Program in Value Investing. Jonathan currently serves on multiple corporate and non-profit boards.

  • As the Executive Assistant and Office Manager at Good & Well, Geshini ensures strong administrative systems and infrastructure are in place to empower our team and facilitate our work. She also supports portfolio management activities, including Impact Measurement and Management, and serves as Executive Assistant to Good & Well’s Founder. Geshini graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts and began her career in the financial services industry. She brings unmatched organizational skills, great resourcefulness and kindness to her work.

Geshini Karunatilake

Aastha Goyal

  • As Student Engagement Manager at Good & Well, Aastha leads our work to  engage students in building a more equitable and sustainable market, including the G&W summer Internship Program and our annual Impact Challenge. Her previous experiences include risk consulting at KPMG, engineering consulting with a focus on sustainability at Hatch, and research in the Energy, Mining, and Environment team at National Research of Canada. Aastha graduated from McGill University with a master's degree in Materials Engineering as a McCall MacBain Scholar and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Previously, she served as President of the Engineering Undergraduate Society at McGill University. As well as a director on the board of the nonprofit Youth Engagement Through Engineering, based out of Montreal.

James Van Bergh

  • As Founder and Chair of the Board of Good & Well, James guides our vision and strategy, while providing strategic support to entrepreneurs in the G&W portfolio.

    James also serves as Chair of the Board of Benefit Systems, which he established in 2004 while working in Poland. Under James’ leadership, Benefit Systems became one of the first publicly-listed B Corps in Europe. Previously, James worked as an advisor to the Polish Government on privatization and corporate restructuring issues, served as President of a fund management company and business incubator in Poland, and worked with Bain & Co. in Boston and London. 

    James received his B.A. from Amherst College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
